How much do your bathroom and kitchen remodeling and design services cost?

There are many different factors that can affect the cost of a project, such as materials, contractor expenses, work delays, and unforeseen issues. However, what you choose for materials will have the greatest impact on the cost of the project.

As designers, we always ask our clients about their budget to help guide us in the right direction. By going through the project brief and getting a list of your expectations and wants, it helps us to place you with the right cabinet line and countertop materials, which are two of the most crucial parts to meeting a budget.

Do you have a minimum project size or minimum fee to work with your designers?

No. At Columbia Showcase Kitchen & Bath Design Studio, we work with clients on all project sizes, whether that’s a large office design, home renovation, or small bathroom remodeling project. Since we offer a free consultation, it never hurts to get a bid on working with our team.

Do you only work on bathroom remodeling and kitchen remodeling design projects?

No! At Columbia Showcase Kitchen & Bath Design, we design rooms featuring cabinetry and countertops for a multitude of home remodeling projects, including laundry rooms, offices, bars, bedrooms, and more! We also provide our interior design services for new construction projects as well!

Do you provide any other design services outside of cabinetry and countertops?

Great question! While we specialize in interior design for rooms featuring cabinetry and countertops, our interior designers also help with all aspects interior design and home remodeling in Columbia, MO, including tile, flooring, backsplash, paint selection, and more!

Do you offer any tune-up services (i.e. cabinet repainting, redooring, etc.)?

Unfortunately, we do not offer cabinetry tune-up services at this time.

Is marble a good option for countertops?

Marble is not an easy stone to live with; it requires careful attention and a delicate lifestyle to ensure that you never have issues with it. If you have children, you will have issues. It’s not just red wine that will affect this stone; anything acidic will have a similar affect. The acid of a drop of orange juice left on your tops will etch the stone and leave an unsealed spot to snatch up that smear of leftovers that will leave you with a more than likely permanent stain. Glasses of water left to condensate on your countertops will somehow leave a ring that you see every time you step back and the natural light shines in. I’ve even heard of it absorbing the oils from a lotion bottle through the plastic and leaving a permanent ring. It’s also very soft, so even if you are extremely careful with acidic things, it can bruise (yes, it’s as ugly as it sounds!) and chip very easily.

What is a good alternative to marble?

If you want the look of marble without these headaches, we recommend Quartz (engineered stone) or at least Quartzite which is a natural stone that gives you some of those white and gray marble veining with density more like granite that is much harder and more durable. Quartzite will still etch and stain, so if you want completely worry free, you should go with Quartz.

Do the hardware finishes need to match the other fixtures (such as faucets and lights)?

No, they do not all need to perfectly match. Mixing various metals and finishes is very common, but the finishes should blend together and complement each other for a cohesive design.

Which style of hardware (pulls vs. knobs) should I go with?

Cabinetry hardware selection tends to fall back on the client’s preference and what is most comfortable for them as there is no right or wrong answer. Often, we will use a variety of sizes based on cabinet sizes in order to keep things in scale as well as add some interest to the space.

Will your interior designers help us pick kitchen appliances to complement the design?

We are more than happy to design and give suggestions, but at the end of the day you should choose what is right for your family. There is no rule of thumb or formula for us to make these decisions for you; it’s something you have to decide. It’s not uncommon for a client to change their mind mid-planning and add an ice maker or even an extra dishwasher into the mix, but the earlier we know, the faster we will get to the kitchen design of your dreams!

So, before you get too far on anything, we suggest making a trip to an appliance store to get somewhat of a handle on what you want. Think about things like:

  • Cooktop or range?
  • Built in refrigerator or standard?
  • Where do you prefer the microwave?
  • Paneled or unpaneled?
  • Stainless hood or built-in wood hood?

If you aren’t sure after looking, don’t be afraid to ask for our advice; we are happy to give our opinions!

What is your service area?

While our headquarters are in Columbia, MO, we can serve customers anywhere within a 1.5 hour radius, including Moberly, Fayette, Glascow, Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks, Sedalia, and Fulton!
